Lou welcomes special guest Doctor Saul Cornell. He is currently the Paul and Diane Guenther Chair in American History at Fordham University. He was Professor of history at Ohio State University and the Director of the Second Amendment Research Center at the John Glenn Institute. He is one of the nation’s leading authorities on early American constitutional thought. He’s authored 3 books including “A Well Regulated Militia: the Founding Fathers and the Origins of Gun Control in America.”
Lou and Saul talk about the history of the Second Amendment and how our Founding Fathers would feel about the country today. Would they make changes to the “the right of the people to keep and bear arms?” With the recent surge in mass shootings have the guns changed or has our culture changed? They also dive into Saul’s book “A Well Regulated Militia: the Founding Fathers and the Origins of Gun Control in America.”
